North Luzon – Pangasinan Escapade

Pangasinan, a province in the Philippines’ northwestern Luzon, has long been associated with the Hundred Islands, a natural wonder of 124 islets scattered stunningly over the waters of Lingayen Gulf and the famous Sunflower Maze in the Philippines.

The sunflower maze is the first of its kind in the Philippines and is located in Barangay C. Lichauco, Tayug, Pangasinan. The new tourist attraction occupies 2,100 square meters of space within a 3-hectare farm in the agricultural barangay. It was built with the help of Allied Botanical Corp., a vegetable seed breeder, producer, and distributor (ABC). Up to four people can walk side by side through the maze’s space between the walls. The attraction has a total capacity of 100 people. Each tour is at least 30 minutes long. The entrance fee is P100 per person. The attraction opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m.

The maze’s entrance features a spectacular display of walls adorned with ornamental and edible plants. Celosia, marigold, petunia, and torenia are among the flowers. Aside from plants, the majority of the decorations in the maze are made from recycled materials such as blue water drums, old tires, and even office furniture.

Things to Consider Before Visiting Sunflower Maze Farm
  1. Only during the blooming season is the farm open. Annual Open Days are usually held in the first quarter of the year.
  2. Blooming usually begins in March, and the petals are expected to fall the following month (April)
  3. The labyrinth is no longer accessible in the final days of their season, but they have a “Cut and Pay” area where you can buy freshly cut sunflowers.
  4. The Sunflower Maze has an elevated platform where you can get a nice aerial view of the entire maze, but you only have 5 to 10 minutes to take pictures or selfies (groupies), especially if the place is crowded.
  5. They do accept Prenup shoots for Php7000, but this may be seasonal because you can only enjoy the view during their blooming season.
  6. A bazaar is located near the farm. There are food stalls as well as a souvenir shop. You can also purchase seeds and other farm and gardening supplies.
