Tagaytay is the place to go if you want to get away from the heat of Metro Manila (the Philippines’ capital).

Tourists are avoiding these areas, which are best known for their breathtaking views of the volcano nestled in a lake, organic farms, heritage houses, pilgrimage churches, spas and wellness centres, and quaint hotels and resorts – some of which have been damaged to varying degrees by the eruptions that began on January 12, 2020.

A short 2-3 hour car ride from the capital will take you to the beautiful Tagaytay. This restaurant is well-known for its delectable dishes such as bulalo, or bone marrow, and halayang ube, or purple yam jam. The best place to eat these foods is at the Tagaytay Picnic Grove, where you can breathe fresh air and admire the famous sight of the Taal volcano, one of the Philippines’ most popular and active volcanoes.
